Poland 1944 (#47). Polish and Soviet tanks. Polska 1944 (cz. 47). Polskie i sowieckie czołgi.

From time to time I had to paint something quick and relaxing. The best for that is Soviet tanks. This time I was going to be a little different. I decided to do something for my Poles and add some Lend-Lease vehicles for my Soviets. In 1943 the 1st Armoured Regiment was created for General Berling's Army. That tanks took part in the Battle of Lenino (12.10.1943). All of their tanks were T-34 of the earlier version. For those, I used the Pegasus models. Sadly one of them was missing a wheel, which I will try to replenish later (I didn't have any spare parts!). The other models are Shermans M2A2 from Italeri. I bought 2 sets, but as soon I assembled them and painted I discovered one annoying fact. From the pictures I have, I haven't seen any single tank of that type with track covers/screens. It was too late to fix it and they will have to stay as it is...

  1. Great looking armor, Bartek. Very interesting to see the T-34's with Polish eagles and the Shermans with Russian markings.

    1. Yes, it is not so popular as it should be, especially when we will talk about numbers. Soviet Union received over 4000 vehicles of different versions of the M4. It should be much more represented in wargames.
