Last Thursday we had AGM in our club, so less time for gaming. Happily (second time in the row), the meeting took only an hour and we had time for small game. Other club members brought their board games, but we had proper naval game with Post Captain rules.
W zeszły czwartek, mieliśmy doroczne spotkanie podsumowujące poprzedni rok, a więc mniej czasu na grę. Na szczęście (to już drugi raz z rzędu), spotkanie zajęło tylko godzinę i pozostały czas mogliśmy przeznaczyć na grę. Inni członkowie naszego klubu przynieśli ze sobą planszówki, my jednak mieliśmy porządną grę morską z użyciem zasad Post Captain.

2. The game. Gra.
The game objective was to French ships have to break through the British blockade and inflict as much damages as they can to the opponent. Simply scenario then. French started the game with the wind. Our plan was to outmanoeuvre one of the British ship, then attack with both ships the other British one, sink it or force to surrender and then take care about the remaining British ship. The first part of the plan was quite simple. First I was swimming with my Cornélie against HMS Aeolus. When I was just close to the small island I turn to port and that left Michael against the wind. Now I was able to take care about HMS Shannon. Campbell, as usually him, tried to ram her with his ship, but failed this time. However that push British ship closer to me, so after few turns we were ready to board. That happened very soon, however Alisdair managed to push my marines back (my main captan get killed during this round) and when he thought that he will survive that melee, Campbell hit his ship from the back and joined the fight. That was too much for the British ship, which surrendered. In that moment HMS Aeolus returned to the battle, but all was over now. This time the French Navy was victorious.
Celem gry było dla francuskich okrętów, by przebić się przez blokadę brytyjskich okrętów i by zadać im jak największe straty. Prosty scenariusz. Francuzi zaczęli grę z wiatrem. Naszym planem było wymanewrowanie jednego z wrogich okrętów i następnie wykorzystanie przewagi liczebnej przeciw drugiemu okrętowi by go zatopić, lub zmusić do poddania się i wtedy zajęcie się pozostałym okrętem brytyjskim. Pierwsza część planu powiodła się znakomicie. Wpierw popłynąłem moją Cornélie przeciw HMS Aeolus. Kiedy już znalazłem się w pobliżu małej wysepki, wykonałem zwrot na lewą burtę co pozostawiło Michaela w kursie pod wiatr. Teraz spokojnie mogłem zająć się HMS Shannon. Campbell, jak to ma w zwyczaju, próbował staranować wrogi okręt, ale tym razem mu się to nie udało. Jednakże to spowodowało, że brytyjski okręt znalazł się bliżej mnie i mogłem dokonać abordażu. To nastąpiło krótko po tym, jednak Alisdairowi udało się odeprzeć mój pierwszy szturm (jedną z ofiar walki był mój główny kapitan) i gdy już wydawało mu się, że uda mu się przetrwać tą walkę, od tyłu uderzył w niego okręt Campbella, który dołączył do walki. To było aż nadto, dla brytyjskiego okrętu, który musiał się poddać. W tym właśnie momencie do walki dołączył HMS Aeolus, ale było już na wszystko za późno. Tym razem zwycięstwo francuskiej marynarki.
