Carronade 2026. SESWC Game: What a Cowboy.

In my previous post, I shared my report from this year’s Carronade. This time, I’d like to show you a game that my club presented at the show. John decided to run a game of What a Cowboy. His miniatures and scenery were set up on the table, and he had prepared a scenario which I promised not to reveal, as I’m planning to bring this game to our club and play it again.

I helped John a bit with running the game and managed to play in two sessions. I lost the first one, but it turned out that a loaded die had been used against me, so I was slightly cheated! The second game ended in a draw, as both sides achieved one objective each. Below are some photos from the game:

What a Cowboy!

A new set from TFL: What a Cowboy! For those who don't know it is set originally derived from a different set of rules, called What a Tanker! This time we have gunslingers instead of tanks. The game's mechanic is very similar and the differences are very slight. If you liked the previous game, you will love the new one.

Nowe zasady od TFL: What a Cowboy! Dla tych co ich nie znają, są to zasady oryginalnie wywodzące się od innych zasad, a mianowicie What a Tanker! Tym razem czołgi zamieniły się w rewolwerowców. Mechanika gry jest bardzo podobna i różni się jedynie kilkoma szczegółami. Jeśli podobała się Tobie poprzednia wersja, to ta też przypadnie Tobie do gustu.

1. The game. Gra.

This time we had 4 players in two teams. Everyone had two figures: one with a pistol and one with a rifle and pistol. Ian and Michael were in one team and Mike and I were in the second. The mission was simple: kill'em all (I think I had recently too much Metallica). The action takes place along the main street. I managed to get the first kill (I killed one of Michael's women). Then Michael killed one of mine, and then Ian killed Mike's. At this moment Ian took a position on the roof and pinned us between the buildings. In the meantime, Mike managed to kill last Michael's woman. Then Ian decided to run off his position and charged at us. That worked well, first, he kill last Mike's men and he killed my last guy. That was a fantastic game!

Tym razem było 4 graczy w dwóch zespołach. Każdy miał dwie figurki: jeden z pistoletem i drugiego ze strzelbą i pistoletem. Ian z Michaelem stanowili jeden zespół, a ja z Mikiem drugi. Misja była prosta: kill'em all (wydaje mi się, że ostatnio słuchałem za dużo Metallicy). Akcja gry toczyła się wzdłuż głównej drogi. Udało mi się zabić pierwszą figurkę (była to jedna z Michaelowych kobiet). Wtedy Michael zabił jednego z moich, potem Ian zabił jednego z ludzi Mikea. W tym momencie Ian zajął pozycję na dachu, czym spinował nasze postaci pomiędzy budynkami. W międzyczasie Mikeowi udało się zabić drugą z kobiet Michaela. Wtedy Ian zdecydował się na szarżę przeciw nam. To była dobra decyzja. Wpierw zabił ostatniego człowieka Mikea a następnie mojego. To była wspaniała gra!
