Last game, figures and models of 2018. Ostatnia gra, figurki i modele roku 2018.

Today we have last day of 2018. For the year review I will write separate post soon, but now last wargaming events of passing year.

Dziś mamy ostatni dzień roku 2018. POdsumowanie roku znajdzie się w osobnym poście, który opublikuje już wkrótce, a teraz ostatnie wargamingowe wydarzenia mijającego roku.

1.2. The game. Gra.

As usual the time between Christmas and Hogmanay is not very busy at our club, so the game planned for 8 players had them only 6. Anyway it was still quite amusing. Both fleets moved against each other (even Venetians). Jack reach Alasdair ships as the first and soon they both started several boarding actions and gun firing. That not finished good for Jack, who finally lost 5 ships against Alasdair's 3. In the centre Campbell moved against Peter, but he spread his ships (he was planning to ram my ships). That finished with disaster. As the first ship he lost his flag ship and by morale tests, most of his ships fleed or stroke their colors. That finished with all his ships soon or later were gone. On the other end Venetians fought against my Anatolians. During our past games the mighty Galeassa, did not acted well and usually finished very badly, but not this time. Her guns were very successful this time and because of that I lost 3 ships. However I managed to capture Venetian flag ship, but this time the test were more than good. Finally the Holy League lost 10 ships (including 2 flag ships) against 8 of Ottomans (no flag ships lost) which gave us clear Muslim victory.

Jak zazwyczaj czas pomiędzy Bożym Narodzeniem a Nowym Rokiem, nie należy do okresów, kiedy nasz klub jest tłumnie odwiedzany i dlatego gra zaplanowana na 8 graczy odbyła się tylko z udziałem 6. Pomimo tego wciąż była to gra bardzo zajmująca. Obie floty ruszyły do przodu (nawet Wenecjanie). Jack dopadł okręty Alasdaira jako pierwszy i wkrótce obaj rozpoczęli serię abordaży i ostrzałów artyleryjskich. To nie skończyło się zbyt dobrze dla Jack'a, który w tej walce stracił 5 okrętów a Alasdair tylko 3. W centrum Campbell ruszył przeciw Peterowi, jednak rozdzielił swoje okręty (zamierzał staranować moje okręty). To skończyło się katastrofą. Jego pierwszym straconym okrętem okazał się jego okręt flagowy i w wyniku testów morale większość jego okrętów albo się poddało albo wycofało się. Wkrótce został pozbawiony reszty okrętów. Na drugiej flance Wenecjanie walczyli z moimi Anatolijczykami. W naszych poprzednich grach, potężna galeasa, nie odgrywała znaczącej roli zazwyczaj kończyła bardzo źle. Nie tym razem jednak. Jej działa były tym razem bardzo skuteczne i zniszczyły mi 3 okręty. Jednak mi udało się zdobyć wenecki okręt flagowy, jednak tym razem testy okazały się dużo bardziej niż dobre. Ostatecznie Święta Liga straciła 10 okrętów (w tym 2 flagowe) przeciw osmańskim 6 (żaden okręt flagowy nie został stracony), co dało wyraźną wygraną sił muzułmańskich.

Prehogmanay Galleys. Przednoworoczne galery.

Last game of the 2016 and it have to be something special. As you remember I took part in game testing of the Galleys, Guns and Glory rules. I am happy that the rules are finally published and I finally had the opportunity to play the final product. I can said that authors and testers made an amazing job. For our game we decided to use all Angus's and Jack's collection with 7 players involved.

Ostatnia gra 2016 roku musiała być w jakiś sposób szczególna. Jak zapewne pamiętacie, jakiś czas temu wziąłem udział w testach zasad Galleys, Guns and Glory. Mam zaszczyt oznajmić, że zasady są już opublikowane i w końcu miałem okazję zagrać w finalny produkt. Mogę z czystym sumieniem powiedzieć, że autorzy jak i testerzy wykonali kawał dobrej roboty. Do naszej gry zdecydowaliśmy się użyć całych kolekcji Angusa i Jack'a. W grę zaangażowanych było 7 graczy.

2. The game. Gra.

The Christian fleet was lead by Rod, who took control over Spanish and Italian ships, Angus lead his Venetians and got the Maltesers, Genoese and Papal ships. Against us Campbell, Alan and Michael lead the Turkish ships whereas Jack lead his Berbery pirates. The game started relatively well for us, as Rod decided to move very quickly against Campbell's and Alan's ships. The Christians started to fire and for the prize of one galiot we sunk two galleys. However his ships get a lot damages and were quite easy prey for Campbell's guns. Soon from whole spanish fleet only Lanterna left, who survive till the end of the game.

Chrześcijańska flota dowodzona była przez Roda, który równocześnie przejął kontrolę nad hiszpańskimi i włoskimi okrętami, Angus dowodził swoimi Wenecjanami, ja natomiast dowodziłem Maltańczykami, Genueńczykami i okrętami papieskimi. Przeciw nam Campbell, Alan i Michael prowadzili okręty osmańskie, natomiast Jack dowodził okrętami piratów berberyjskich. Gra zaczęła się stosunkowo dobrze dla nas, kiedy Rod ruszył swoimi okrętami przeciw okrętom Alana i Campbella. Za cenę utraty jednego galiota zatopił on dwie galery. Jednakże w tej wymianie ognia, jego okręty zostały dość ciężko uszkodzone i okazały się bardzo łatwą zdobyczą dla dział Campbella. Wkrótce z floty hiszpańskiej pozostała jedynie Lanterna, która dotrwała do końca gry.

On my end we both had our elite troops. Pirates versus Hospitaliers. Because of my ineffective firing I did not risk fight against main pirates ships and slowly withdraw trying desperately reload my guns, which not succeed till the end of the game. For my luck pirates reloaded his guns with the same effect. However my small ships performance was much better. My galliots managed to destroy one of Berbery galiot and almost kill all crew on the other, however we not managed to resolve the melee as the game get finished.

Na naszym końcu starły się elitarne siły naszych flot. Piraci przeciw Szpitalnikom. Z powodu mojego nieskutecznego ognia nie ryzykowałem bezpośredniego starcia z pirackimi okrętami i powoli wycofywałem je i z desperacją próbowałem przeładować swoje działa. Na moje szczęście piraci równie skutecznie przeładowywali swoje działa. Jednakże moje małe okręty stanęły na wysokości zadania i ich działania były znaczne skutecznejsze. Moim galiotom udało się zniszczyć galiot Berberów i wyciąć prawie w całości załogę drugiego, jednak ta druga walka nie została rozstrzygnięta do końca gry.

On the Venetian end, things was not going well too. Our galeassa started game a little forward to rest of our ships and for the some time she stayed unsupported. That lead the Ottoman captains to the race to sunk the big ship. In the big chaotic firing, finally Turks managed to kill whole galeassa crew, but then the rest of the Venetian fleet arrived and push back the Ottomans. Finally we had to finish game with a minor Ottoman victory.

Na weneckim końcu stołu, sprawy również nie wyglądały najlepiej. Nasza galeasa rozpoczęła grę wysunięta lekko przed linią naszych okrętów i w związku z tym przez pewien czas pozostała bez wsparcia. To doprowadziło do wyścigu kapitanów osmańskich, kto pierwszy zatopi wielki okręt. W wielkiej i chaotycznej strzelaninie udało się w końcu Turkom wybić załogę galeasy, jednak właśnie wtedy nadpłynęła reszta floty weneckiej i odepchnęła Osmanów. Ostatecznie gra zakończyła się minimalnym zwycięstwem Osmanów.

Galleys, Guns and Glory - game 5th/gra piąta.

Last week was very busy for me, so I did not have enough time for posting anything on my blog. Right now is much better and I finally have time for some updates. Today the game played two weeks ago in our club. It was another game with great set of rules Galleys, Guns and Glory. Jack and Angus increased their fleets and one of the reinforcements was the first galeassa in our game!

W mijającym tygodniu byłem dość zajęty i nie miałem zbyt dużo czasu na umieszczanie czegokolwiek na blogu. Teraz jest już lepiej i czas na jego uzupełnienie. Dzisiaj gra rozegrana dwa tygodnie temu w naszym klubie. Była to kolejna gra ze wspaniałymi zasadami Galleys, Guns and Glory. Jack i Angus znacznie wzmocnili swoje floty i jednym z uzupełnień była pierwsza galeasa użyta w naszych grach!

2. The game. Gra.

This battle started very bad for Christians. Despite my very well roll for initiative we starting lossing ships very quickly. Specially our small galiots were eliminated one after another. Possibly it caused the much bigger experience of Ottoman commanders (we had two novices, our opponents had at least one game before). However we had something special as I though, which would made even our chances - the galeassa. Angus decided to put her as quick as he can on the front of his line and decided to use his galiots to towing her into the battle.

Ta bitwa zaczęła się bardzo źle dla Chrześcijan. Pomimo moich dobrych rzutów na inicjatywę, to my zaczęliśmy tracić okręty jako pierwsi. Szczególnie bardzo szybko były eliminowane nasze małe galioty. Prawdopodobnie górę wzięło tutaj większe doświadczenie osmańskich dowódców (w naszych szeregach było dwóch nowicjuszy, z kolei w szeeregach osmańskich każdy z graczy miał przynajmniej jedną grę za sobą). Jednak wydawało mi się, że mamy coś, co powinno wyrównać nasze szanse - galeasę. Angus zdecydował się wysunąć ją jak najszybciej na przód przy pomocy swoich galiotów.

Venetian tactic allowed Ottoman ships attacked rest of the Holy League squadrons and outnumbered them. First destroyed squadron was the Western Mercenaries and soon Papal and Maltese ships were destroyed. Venetians and Spaniards still fought but their situation was very dramatic.

Wenecka taktyka pozwoliła Osmańskim okrętom zaatakować resztę eskadr Świętej Ligi i zyskać tam przewagę liczebną. Pierwsza została zniszczona eskadra Zachodnich Najemników a zaraz potem eskadra Papiestwa i Maltańczyków. Wenecjanie i Hiszpanie wciąż stawiali opór, jednak ich sytuacja stała się dramatyczna.

Finaly Angus decided to use his galeassa, but it was far to late. Christian ships were surounded and nothing could stop Ottomans from their victory. Finally Spaniards were left with the Laterna, which Ottomans were unable to attack (thanks to my orange and white dice of doom - one day I will tell you something more about those dice) and with some Venetian ships. When the Ottomans captured the galeassa, we decided to finish the game. It wasn't good day for Christians...

W końcu Angus zdecydował się użyć swojej galeasy, jednak na to było już za późno. Okręty chrześcijańskie były otoczone i noc nie mogło odebrać Osmanom zwycięstwa. W końcu Hiszpanie pozostali z jedną laterną, której Osmanowie nie mogli dopaść (głównie dzięki moim pomarańczowej i białej kości zagłady - kiedyś opowiem Wam więcej o nich) i kilka weneckich okrętów. Kiedy jednak Osmanowie zdobyli galeasę, zdecydowaliśmy się zakończyć grę. To nie był dobry dzień dla Chrześcijan...

Galleys, Guns and Glory - game 4th/gra czwarta.

Last Thursday we had another game with Galleys, Guns and Glory. Our club had been chosen for play tests of that rules and this was 5th game in club (it was my 4th game) with 4 veterans and 4 newbies to this rules. This time we used the same amount of the ships as we had them last time. As far as I know more ships are shipping to us from US among others is big galleasa for Venetians! Finally our club is going to put this game as a participation game during the Crisis 2015 in Antwerp, Belgium so still few more games with this set will be played later.

W ostatni czwartek mieliśmy kolejną grę z zasadami Galleys, Guns and Glory. Nasz klub został wybrany do play testów tych zasad i to była już piąta gra w klubie (moja czwarta) z czterema weteranami i czterema nowymi graczami. Tym razem użyliśmy identycznej ilości okrętów jak w poprzedniej grze. Wiem jednak, że więcej okrętów przybędzie niedługo ze Stanów, między innymi wielka galeasa dla Wenecjan! W końcu nasz klub zdecydował się wystawić te zasady jako naszą grę podczas Crisis 2015 w Antwerpii w Belgii (będzie można wziąć w niej udział), więc jeszcze kilku gier z tymi zasadami możecie się spodziewać.

2. The game. Gra.

The Ottoman fleet was divided the same as the Christian fleet into four squadrons. From the beginning the game divided into three battles, that are: involved Spanish squadron, Papal squadron, which later joined into one battle and the last one involving Maltese and Venetian ships. The first lost was the galliot sunk by spanish guns. The Spanish squadron very easy managed to destroy one of the Turkish squadrons (Spaniards sunk 2 Turkish galleys and 2 galliots, with a lost of 1 galley), however attack from the flank by the galley from the other Turkish squadron cost losing of Spanish laterna.
Osmańska flota była również, tak jak flota chrześcijańska podzielona na cztery eskadry. Od początku gra podzieliła się na trzy starcia, to jest: z eskadrą hiszpańską, papieską, oba te starcia na kóńcu połączyły się w jedno starcie i ostatnie w które zaangażowane były okręty maltańskie i weneckie. Pierwszą stratę zanotowali Turcy, którzy utracili galiota od ognia hiszpańskich armat. Hiszpańska eskadra dość łatwo poradziła sobie z jedną z tureckich eskadr (Hiszpanie zatopili 2 tureckie galery i 2 galioty za cenę utraty 1 galery), jednakże atak od flanki przez galerę z następnej tureckiej galery kosztowało utratę hiszpańskiej laterny.

Papal squadron has been attacked by small Turkish ships and this wasn't good tactic as in the series of boards Papal ships managed to destroy attackers (Papal lost 2 galliots vs 3 Turkish galiots lost) and after this they were able to support the Spaniards. Papal galley board the Turkish galley and won the melee. This finished the battle on the Christian left flank.
Eskadra papieska została zaatakowana przez małe okręty tureckie i nie było to najlepsze rozwiązanie, ponieważ w serii abordaży, okrętom papiestwa udało się zniszczyć atakujących (Papiestwo straciło 2 galioty vs 3 tureckie galioty zatopione) i po tym mogło wesprzeć Hiszpanów. Papieska galera starła się z turecka galerą i w walce wręcz osiągnęła zwycięstwo. To zakończyło walkę na chrześcijańskiej lewej flance.

The Venetian nad Maltese ships were fighting together, however Maltese moved to much forward and were destroyed by main Turkish squadron. Venetians once again proved their great value. Their guns massacred one turkish squadron and finally moved against main Turkish squadron (at this moment it was last Turkish laterna). In big boarding action the Turkish crew were slaughtered and the whole game finished with Holy League victory!!!
Weneckie i maltańskie okręty współdziałały razem, jednak Maltańczycy wysunęli się zbyt do przodu i zostali zniszczeni przez główną turecką eskadrę. Wenecjanie z kolei po raz kolejny udowodnili swoją wielką wartość i swoimi działami rozgromili turecką eskadrę i w końcu zwrócili się przeciwko głównej eskadrze tureckiej (w tym momencie składającej się z jednaj laterny). W wielkiej akcji abordaży turecka załoga została zmasakrowana i cała gra zakończyła się zwycięstwem Świętej Ligi!!!
