2025/2026

Welcome, everyone, to the new year, 2026. Once again, I am starting this year with a summary and plans for the upcoming year. I am very curious to see how many of my plans I will be able to accomplish.

As usual, before I get into specifics, here’s what I planned at the beginning of last year:

https://asienieboje.blogspot.com/2025/01/20242025.html

1. 2025.
1.1. Blog.

Last year, I published 63 posts, and I plan to publish 64 in 2024. My blog received a total of 177,136 visits, but in September, like many others, it faced a bot invasion that likely skewed the visitor count. Despite this, it propelled the total visitor count towards one million. I also celebrated the publication of my thousandth post.

This time, I won’t be sharing the lists of my most popular posts, army pages, or the countries my visitors come from, as they wouldn't be accurate. However, I can confirm that the number of my followers has risen to 123, and that is a true number!

1.2. Figures and models.

This year, I can proudly say that I have been consistent in decluttering my shame drawer. I completed several projects, which meant I didn’t have any miniatures left to paint for those projects. This year, my primary focus was on painting 28mm miniatures and 1/1200-scale ships. I didn’t work on anything else or in other scales. Here’s a more detailed list:

28mm:

Foot figures: 247

Mounted Figures: 60

Artillery: 2

1/1200:

Ships: 33

Accesories: 42

Terrains: 7

Altogether: 391 elements (487 in 2024)

1.3 Games.

Last year, I played a total of 55 games (57 games in 2024). I would have played more, but health issues temporarily sidelined me. I competed in 51, winning 35 and drawing 3. I also umpired 15 games, 11 of which were based on my own scenario. In 18 of the games, I used my own miniatures and models, and in 13 of them, I used my own scenery.

Games by scale:

54mm: 3 games,

28mm: 19 games,

15mm: 4 games,

10mm: 1 game,

6mm: 4 games,

naval: 8 games,

air: 11 games,

board: 5 games.

Last year, I used 27 different rules of the game. The most popular ones were:

1. Blood Red Skies: 6 games.

2. Black Powder: 5 games.

3. Gods of War: Togo: 4 games.

The most popular periods were:

1. 2nd World War: 12 games.

2. 1815-1914: 10 games.

3. 1st World War: 7 games.

It is also important to note the return of several previously popular systems, such as Guns of August and Bolt Action, which I believe will continue to be played in the new year.

1.4. Events, museums and shows.

This chapter of my adventure was quite eventful. Firstly, I participated in both of Scotland's biggest wargaming shows. I helped run our game at Caronade and served as a judge at Claymore once again. Additionally, I joined the judging panel for the painting competition on the Polish wargaming forum, Strategie. The most significant event, however, was my joining the committee that manages our SESWC club.

As for trips, last year, we returned to Italy, where I had the opportunity to explore what Florence has to offer and experience a little of Pisa. I will definitely return to both cities, as there is still so much left to see.

2. 2026.
2.1. Blog.

There have been no significant changes in this area. You can expect weekly game reports, updates on my newly painted models, event summaries, and more.

2.2. Figures and models.

I’m continuing the battle against the shame drawer. Currently, I'm painting Soviet figures and tanks in 28mm scale, and after that, I plan to return to working on my Napoleonic infantry. I need to reach the infantry limit in relation to the artillery pieces I have. I also want to finally paint the Duchy of Warsaw figures, but I intend to use a 54mm scale for those. I have the figures ready, but I just lack the motivation. Additionally, I have German troops in 20mm scale and a few small units in 15mm scale. At the moment, I don’t plan on making any purchases, but we all know how easily that can change.

2.3. Games.

This topic will cover familiar games, unfamiliar games, and those we haven't played in a while.

2.4. Events, museums and shows.

I'm planning to visit both Scottish shows and possibly a few others as well. I'm considering finally checking out Partisan, at least one of them. I might also return for Salute since the famous tapestry is coming to London. It would be great to combine both trips.

As for my holiday plans, one of them will be the fulfilment of a childhood dream. I hope nothing interferes with that. I’ll be sure to write about all my experiences on my blog to share my impressions with you.

2024/2025

Happy New Year! The old year has ended, and a new year has begun. It's time to reflect and plan for the year ahead.

As usual, before I get into specifics, here’s what I planned at the beginning of last year:

https://asienieboje.blogspot.com/2024/01/20232024.html

1. 2024

1.1. Blog.

Last year I posted 64 times (61 in 2023) and had 104 693 visits (130 626 in 2023). I have 120 followers (117 in 2023). The blog is still growing, which is good. This year I had most visits from Ireland, the United States and Canada. Thank you very much, Guys! The most popular posts were:

1. Claymore 2024.

2. Carronade 2024.

3. Not a Waterloo. Vallour and Fortitude.

The most popular my army pages were:

1. Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. 17th Century. 15mm.

2. Polybian Rome. 28mm.

3. Duchy of Warsaw. 54mm.

1.2. Figures and Models.

This year, I focused on two leading projects: the Duchy of Warsaw and the Mahdists, on a 28mm scale. Additionally, I managed to create a new small army of Tatars for By Fire and Sword on a 15mm scale and the Polish Navy on a 1/3000 scale. I'm pleased to see that my "drawer of shame" is getting emptier, which is a positive sign. However, some projects there have been waiting for a long time to be realized.

This year, I painted a total of 487 elements, compared to 295 in 2023.

Here are the details:

28mm Infantry: 292

28mm Cavalry: 41

28mm Vehicles: 1

20mm Vehicles 2

15mm Infantry: 8

15mm Cavalry: 49

Terrains: 7

Planes: 7

Accessories: 31

Ships: 42

1.3. Games.

Last year, I played a total of 57 games, which is a decrease from the 62 games I played the year before. Out of the 57 games, I competed in 51, achieving 31 wins, 5 draws, and 15 losses. I led 18 games, wrote scenarios for 9, used my miniatures or models in 21 games, and incorporated my scenery in 18 games.

Games by scale:

54mm: 7 games

28mm: 19 games

25mm: 1 game.

20mm: 3 games.

15mm: 6 games.

10mm: 1 game.

6mm: 2 games.

naval: 6 games.

air: 9 games.

board: 3 games.

Last year, I used 24 different rules of the game. The most popular ones were:

1. Black Powder - 9 games.

2. Blood Red Skies - 7 games.

3. Valour and Fortitude - 6 games.

The most popular periods were:

1. World War 2 - 15 games.

2. Napoleonic -  13 games.

3. 18th Century - 8 games.

1.4. Events, museums and shows.

Traditionally, I have attended two wargaming shows: Carronade in Falkirk, which was the largest show in Scotland this year, and Claymore in Edinburgh, where I served as a judge again. During the summer, I returned to Mallorca, where I discovered a very interesting museum. I might post a report about this museum on my blog tomorrow.

2. 2025.

2.1. Blog.

For the blog, I don't anticipate any major changes. So far, it has mainly featured weekly game reports, new models, event coverage, and some occasional posts. I’m contemplating whether I should return to bilingual reporting, but I need to think that over first.

2.2 Figures and models.

When it comes to figures and models, the first ones I'm focusing on are the pre-dreadnoughts for the new game, Gods of War: Togo. I backed the Kickstarter campaign last year, and now it's time to see what it's all about. After reading the rules, I have a very positive impression of the game. The models are also well-crafted, so they are my priority.

Next, I will return to working on the Duchy of Warsaw in both 28mm and 54mm scales. It's time to finish the third battalions and create one or two new infantry brigades. Additionally, I have a completely new project in mind, but for now, I'm in the process of gathering source materials and making an initial selection of figures I could use.

2.3. Games.

It's likely going to be similar to last year, with games we enjoy and some we haven't discovered yet. I'm planning to introduce the Togo game I mentioned earlier, and I might play the most recent game from Warsaw 1656. As for what else we might do, we'll see.

2.4. Events, museums and shows.

I will attend both Scottish shows: Carronade and Claymore. As for the other events, I am not sure yet. A new group called Claymore Gamers has been formed, which will again organize large two-day games. I won't participate in the first event, but I'm not ruling it out completely. However, if there is a game scheduled for October, I will take part in it. Regarding the trips, they look really interesting, but I will share more details when I have further information.
