You do not mess with Polish T34!!! Nie zadzieraj z polskim T34!!!

This week in our club tried to play by the new for us, but widely acclaimed set of rules Bolt Action: World War II Wargames Rules. For this game we used models and miniatures from the Colin's collection. Game scenario also has been prepared by Colin and put us somewhere in 1944 on the Eastern Front, the Germans, trying to break out of encirclement...
The Battlefield. Pole Bitwy.
As was stated above, the German Kampfgruppe (Angus, Ray, and our new mate Dave) tried to break out of the encirclement. They chose a village defended by Soviet soldiers supported by Polish tanks and Soviet partisans (Bill and myself). Here's how the game was played.
Germans, in accordance with our plan planned to carry out a strongest strike on the village. To prevent this all our regular infantry troops supported by tank T34/85 taken their positions in the village, while the other, a group of partisans also supported by one tank T34/85 secured our left flank. Germans began the rapid movement of their units forward and for better preparation of an attack positions, which we used to put most of our troops in an ambush. It seems to me that the German players were distracted that day. They saw T34 tank blocking the road and wanted to use the precedence of their movement, but they forgot that the tank is waiting in ambush, and therefore has the right to shoot first. The effect of this was quick and made 85mm bullet in the PzKpfw IV, the crew did not pass the test, and so Germans lost their first vehicle. This loss has caused some confusion in the German team. They quickly picked up and decided to treat my tank with something more enjoyable ... Meanwhile, the partisans occupied the wilderness hut and began fighting with the German infantry trying to break the left flank. Germans ware supported by, their cannon 7.5 cm le.IG 18th But they ware not able to shoot any AT missiles. Against this gun stood the second T34. The tank eliminated the first crew of the gun and then led the fight against the other group which has a recrewed the gun. I could be wrong here, because at this point, something more interesting absorb my attention... That something was the Jagdpanther. But before that happened. My MMG team approached too close to the building occupied by the German MG. As a result, I lost the weapon with the crew. In order to revenge my T34 fired at that house and killed the crew but not damaged the weapon. That was the moment that Germans was trying to use. Jagdpanther left behind the hiding, set the fire and... missed. My answer came in the next round. This time I was shooting first. Unfortunately, the fire of Jagdpanther suppressed a little bit my tankists. But they have smoothly passed all the tests and their shot eliminated the Jagdpanther immediately. The second German vehicle has been destroyed. Germans managed to recrued the machine gun, and this time their infantry attack. Their action broke down and both opposites start their fight behind their positions. Germans were not able to make further movement forward. The last act of desperation ware unsuccessful attacks on my tank with Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck but both failed and both ended with punishment from my tank's machine guns. Meanwhile, on our right wing the little German squad almost made their way to the other end of the battlefield. But for such an eventuality I was been prepared and and had, awaited in ambush a Soviet infantry team. They jumped out of the building and attacked the Germans. As a result, almost half of the German's unit was struck down.. On the left wing the partisans kept their positions, and the game ended with the Soviet-Polish victory.
We were all happy with this rules, I'm not sure only about Angus. The begining of the game looks slow, but with the time and our understanding the rules, games become quicker. I really liked this set of rules and would recommend them to anyone. They can be practically used in any skirmish scale game. I am going to use them with 28mm and 20mm figures.
At the end of our story told Colin tank "Rudy 102". From now on, even here, they know that you do not mess with the Polish T34 ;)
If you required more information about this tank, take a look at this website:
Tymczasem partyzanci obsadzili leśniczówkę i rozpoczęli walkę z niemiecką piechotą próbującą przełamać lewą flankę. Wyskoczyli oni z budynku i zaatakowali Niemców.
