Western Front (SESWC). Front zachodni (SESWC)

Yesterday battle in SESWC was large game using Battlefield PzG rules. We play on 4x12 ' table, and three three German players against four  British (I was as usual bloody nazi). Scenario was provided by Jim Loutitt. The british task was to move their troops throught the table and the Germans to stop them.

Brits went in three columns tanks with infantry in halftrucks or on tanks. One of them move along the road, the second move in the centre, off road and the third was moving along the hill. The second column was stoped by platoon defending the farm and till the end of the game stopped the central column, so this one can not support the collumn on the road. And this one suffered the biggest losses. It has been stopped and almost complitelly destroyed by three platoons of infantry supported by PzKpfw IV, Hetzer, 88 mm AA gun and 88mm mortar. On the other side of the table Germans was not so lucky as their Kameraden on the road. In the tank clash German lost PzKpfw IV and Hetzer and British had their way open from this side. In this moment we have to finish our game. Only one British column reach the center of the table, so the game was a draw. Jim told us, that if British troops will reach 3/4 of the table he was going to give Germans some reinforcement (some PzKpfw IV tank and infantry). and if this will help Germans to push back Brits, they would have some reinforcements too (some air support etc.)

Before the game there ware ideas to spread game on two, becouse of the number of participants. I think that the big game like this was a very good idea, and everybody enjoyed the game, I did. 

Wczorajsza gra w SESWC była dużą rozgrywką opartą o zasady Battlefield Pzg. Graliśmy na stole o rozmiarach 4 na 12 stóp, trzech graczy po stronie niemieckiej i czterech po stronie brytyjskiej (ja jak zwykle stanąłem po stronie nazistów ;). Autorem scenariusza był Jim Loutitt. Zadaniem Brytyjczyków było przejście z jednego końca stołu na drugi a niemieckim ich powstrzymanie.

Brytyjczycy atakowali w trzech kolumnach. Pierwsza poruszała się wzdłuż drogi, druga w centrum, a trzecia wzdłuż wzniesień. Druga kolumna uwikłała się w walki z plutonem piechoty na farmie i do końca gry próbowała ją zdobyć i obejść i przez to nie mogąc wesprzeć kolumny poruszającej się wzdłuż drogi. A ta miała największe problemy i ucierpiała największe straty, prawie będąc zniszczoną. Oddziały te musiały zmierzyć się z trzema plutonami piechoty, czołgiem PzKpfw IV, działem Hetzer wspartymi ogniem działa pplot. 88mm i moździerza 88mm. Po drugiej stronie stołu Niemcy nie mieli tyle szczęścia jak ich Kameraden po drugiej stronie. W walce pancernej Niemcy stracili PzKpfw IV i działo Hetzer i Brytyjczycy otworzyli sobie po tej stronie wolną drogę. W tym momencie musieliśmy zakończyć naszą grę. W sumie tylko jedna brytyjska kolumna osiągnęła środek stołu i uznać można to za remis. Od Jima wiem, że gdyby Brytyjczycy osiągnęli 3/4 stołu, niemcy otrzymali by posiłki w postaci kilku czołgów Pzkpf IV i trochę piechoty, z kolei jeśli oni zaczęli by spychać Brytyjczyków, zostali by oni (Brytowie) wsparci z powietrza.

Przed grą, ze względu na ilość chętnych do gry był pomysł podzielenia gry na dwa stoły. Cieszę się, że tak się nie stało, a po grze wszyscy byli bardzo zadowoleni, włącznie ze mną.
