Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Last year I have visited Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Already I have showed the galleries of icons of that museum: HMS Warrior, HMS Victory, Mary Rose and HMS M33. Now other part of the pictures from that place. Besides  the ships, there are plenty of places you have to see. One of them is shop for hobbyist. I think that all equipment gathered there would be able to get  any reenactor, modeller or wargamer a hart attack and their wallet would become empty very quick. All items are oryginal, but very expensive too.

W zeszłym roku odwiedziłem Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Pokazałem juz Wam ikony tego muzeum: HMS Warrior, HMS Victory, Mary Rose i HMS M33. Teraz czas na dalsze galerie z tego miejsca. Oprócz okrętów jest tam wiele miejsc wartych obejrzenia. Jednym z nich jest sklep dla hobbystów. Wydaje mi się, że zgromadzone tam sprzęty są w stanie przyprawić niejednego rekonstruktora, modelarza czy wargamera o atak serca i pustkę w portfelu. Wszystkie zgromadzone tam przedmioty są oryginalne i bardzo drogie.

When I was there, the exhibition about First and Second World Wars were not ready yet, but there was a lot of  Battle of Trafalgar and Admiral Nelson instead.  In the Royal Navy Museum is the collection of figureheads (I will show you them tommorow), which is very interesting. The exposition of the history of Royal Navy besides of a lot of pictures is full of beautifull models of the ships, some of them are really big.

Kiedy tam byłem, ekspozycja dotycząca pierwszej i drugiej wojny światowej nie była jeszcze gotowa, w zamian za to pełno było bitwy pod Trafalgarem i admirała Nelsona. W Muzeum Royal Navy znajduje się bardzo ciekawa kolekcja figur galionowych (pokażę je Wam jutro). wystawa poświęcona historii Royal Navy oprócz zdjęć pełna jest bardzo pięknych modeli okrętów, niektóre z nich są naprawdę wielkie.

Very interesting is the dockyard exhibition, showing us how Portsmouth dockyard was created, how looked the work there from the beggining to the present times. The exibition is full of ship models made in Portsmouth.

Bardzo interesująca jest wystawa dotycząca samej stoczni, która pokazuje nam realia pracy w stoczni Portsmouth od początków do czasów obecnych. Można tam zobaczyć wiele modeli okrętów, tam zbudowanych.

If the weather is good, and you have a lot of time, take the harbour tour. From my friend I know it is very good. I did not have enought time for that. The queue was to big and I did not want to waste my time for this. But if I visit this museum another time I will do it for sure.

Jeśli pogoda jest dobra i macie wystarczająco dużo czasu, weźcie wycieczkę po porcie. Od moich przyjaciół wiem, że warto. Ja nie miałem na to wystarczająco dużo czasu, była zbyt duża kolejka i nie chciało mi się na nią marnować czasu. Jeśli jednak uda mi się to muzeum odwiedzić jeszcze raz, to na pewno skorzystam z tej atrakcji.

Portsmouth is the home of Royal Navy. I had the opportunity to see the newest ship of the Royal Navy, HMS Duncan. This type 45 destroyer  is really impresive and so different in shape than the traditional ships. 

Portsmouth jest główna bazą Royal Navy. Miałem okazję zobaczyć jej najnowszy okręt: HMS Duncan. Ten niszczyciel typu 45 jest naprawdę imponujący a jego kształt tak inny od tradycyjnych okrętów.

If you are planning to visit this museum, check their website and buy the tickets online (they are cheeper, and you save the time, becouse you don't have to wait in the queue to buy the tickets in the museum). All entries are included in the price of ticket and they are valid for whole next year from your visit.

Jeśli planujesz wizytę w tym muzeum, odwiedź ich stronę i kup bilety online (są tańsze i oszczędzasz tym czas, bo nie musisz czekać w kolejce by kupić bilet). Wszystkie wejścia są w cenie biletu i sa ważne przez rok od daty Twojej wizyty.
