Engagement. Stracie.

Last thursday we played again Muskets&Tomahawks, but 15mm this time. Derek and Jack painted some miniatures, so we decided to try them on the table. For the game we use an engagement scenario for both sides. This time the French ware: Michael (regulars), Jim (irregulars) and Derek (Indians) who played against British: Jack (irregulars) and me (regulars).
Battlefield. Pole bitwy.

Some time takes us the game setup and watching the new figures, so we did not have much time for the game. Maybe next time... The game started with British troops deployed on the table, and after them French deployed thier forces. The British plan was to take all places, which can give any protection, so one unit of grenadiers decided to take the blockhouse, one of the rangers take the village, and the other one take the farm, rest of the troops took the role of support for the troops in covers. French plan was a little different. All French regulars decided to attack allong the village and storm the blockhouse, whils the Indians ware support for this troops. The French irregulars decided to attack the farm. During the game British took the blockhouse and start firing at French, but both of them had the cover of the terrain so there was no result on this side. In the centre two units of Indians have been stopped by Rangers, and nearly been massacred by deadly British fire. Very interesning sytuation happend in the village, where some buildings ware taken by British irregulars and some of them by French regulars. We had the true scenes from the 'western movies', when opponents fired at themselves through the doors and windows. Finally beeing surrounded by regulars from the left and Indiand from their right, rangers decided to attack the Indians. After the deadly fire, the Indians have been destroyed, and then Rangers decided to fight hand to hand with French regulars, but this fight has been lost. At this stage the game has been stopped, there was no more time for gaming this evening. On the other side of the battlefield, the british regulars took their slow way to the farm, very quick taken by British irregulars. Both sides took a lot of maneuvering to get thei proper positions. I've almost done the same mistake, which I done few games before, when my troops ware attacked from behind, but this time card for my troops came on time and I was ready for fight, but when it happend the game has to be finished. So there was a draw. For the statistic French lost 19 figures (13 of them ware Indians!), British lost 17 figures.
