Whiskey Creek - 12.10.1777

The last time I am neglecting a bit my blog, and this is mainly due to the game I am playing and painting projects that are in progress. Now I decided to catch up with some relations. Today, a brief report from the game that we played at  Bill Gilchrist's home in the previous Saturday.

Ostatnio trochę zaniedbuję bloga, a to głównie ze względu na gry, które rozgrywam i projekty malarskie które akurat są w trakcie. Postanowiłem teraz trochę nadgonić z relacjami. Dzisiaj krótka relacja z gry, jaką rozegraliśmy w domu u Billa Gilchrista w poprzednią sobotę.

1. Orders/Rozkazy. 

Following the failure of their surprise attack on the British at Germantown Washingtons’a army retired towards Valley Forge. The rearguard under Greene camped on the Whiskey Creek on the night of 11 October.

Earl Cornwallis commanding the British vanguard decided overnight to launch a surprise attack on Greene’s isolated command. Marching before daylight his plan is to fall on Greene’s camp at first light as had been done at the Paoli massacre. He is helped in this by well paid local guides.
Except for a few pickets the Patriots are still encamped as the first British troops approach their positions.

Po niepowodzeniu niespodziewanego ataku na Brytyjczyków pod Germantown, armia Washingtona wycofała się do Valley Forge. Tylnia ich straż pod dowództwem Greene'a rozbiła obóz nad Whiskey Creek w nocy 11 października.

Earl Cornwallis, dowodzący Brytyjską awangardą zdecydował się na marsz nocą i z samego rana uderzyć na wydzielone siły Greene'a. Maszerując przed wschodem słońca ma zamiar niespodziewanie spaść na obóz Greene'a z pierwszym brzaskiem słońca i doprowadzić do podobnej masakry, jaka miała miejsce w Paoli. Jego oddziały są prowadzone przez bardzo sowicie opłaconych miejscowych przewodników.

Poza kilkoma oddziałami, Patrioci cały czas znajdują się w swoich obozach, kiedy pierwsze oddziały brytyjskie zajmują swoje pozycje.

3. The Game/Gra.

The whole game proceeded in several stages and early split into two separate clashes. From the beginning, the British on their left side held their own much better than the right wing. Very quickly took their initial positions and soon began fighting with the Americans. They very quickly gained an advantage and defeated the forces of the Patriots gathered here. But they could not cross the river because of things on their right flank went very bad.

Cała gra przebiegła w kilku etapach i na początku podzieliła się na dwa oddzielne starcia. Od samego początku Brytyjczycy na swoim lewym skrzydle radzili sobie o wiele lepiej niż ich prawe skrzydło. Bardzo szybko zajęli swoje pozycje wyjściowe i w krótkim czasie rozpoczęli walkę z Amerykanami. Bardzo szybko tez zdobyli przewagę i rozbili zgromadzone tutaj siły Patriotów. Nie mogli jednak przekroczyć rzeki, ponieważ na ich prawym skrzydle sprawy przyjęły niepomyślny obrót.

At the British right wing, from the beginning (due to bad throws) everything went wrong. Americans also had a lot of problems here, because once on the left flank, the troops ware busy fighting, all gathered here forces were still absorbed in a nap. Finally the Americans wake up and managed to takea defensive position along the fence line. British attack broke down and soon British forces were defeated. However, with the help arrived the victorious forces from the left flank.

Na brytyjskim prawym skrzydle, wszystko od początku (za sprawą złych rzutów) szło źle. Amerykanie również mieli tutaj dużo problemów, ponieważ kiedy już na lewej flance bitwa trwała w najlepsze, zgromadzone tutaj siły wciaz były pogrążone w drzemce. W końcu Amerykanie się obudzili i zdążyli nawet zająć pozycje obronne wzdłóż lini płotów. Atak brytyjski załamał się i wkrótce siły tutaj zgromadzone zostały rozbite. Z pomocą przybyły jednak już zwycięskie siły z lewej flanki. 

Before British support joined the to fight the British cavalry from right wing charged at American  skirmishers. It would seem that this action should result in the total destruction of the infantry. None of these! They survived all five rounds of fighting with the British cavalry and finally had to withdraw. Using this confusion both sides began to take better positions for the final clash. At this point the game has to be ended, because the British victory was more than clear. Probably the next  British attack would have ended in a massacre of the American forces.

Zanim brytyjskie posiłki włączyły się do walki, brytyjska kawaleria prawego skrzydła przypuściła szarżę na amerykańskich harcowników. Wydawać by się mogło, że taka akcja powinna zakończyć się dla piechurów totalną destrukcją. Nic z tych rzeczy! Przetrwali całe pięć tur walcząc z brytyjską kawalerią i w końcu musieli się wycofać. Korzystając z tego zamieszania obie strony zaczęły zajmować lepsze pozycje do ostatecznej rozgrywki. W tym momencie gra sie zakończyła, ponieważ brytyjskie zwycięstwo było aż nadto wyraźne. Następny atak brytyjski najprawdopodobniej skończyłby się masakrą dla sił amerykańskich.

France 1940 pt. 2; Francja 1940 cz. 2.

Earlier this month, I played with Campbell the game by his scenario, concerning on the campaign in France in 1940 (reports can be found here). This time we played a continuation of that game, but in a much larger group. For the game we used  Bolt Action rules and system tokens with the end of the turn and with special events.

Na początku tego miesiąca, rozegrałem z Campbellem grę wg jego scenariusza dotyczący kampanii we Francji w roku 1940 (relacje znajdziecie tutaj). Tym razem rozegraliśmy kontynuację tamtej gry, jednak w dużo większym gronie. Do gry użyliśmy zasad Bolt Action i systemu żetonów z końcem tury i zdarzeniami specjalnymi.

1. Orders/Rozkazy. 

After the capture of the village and the hill, German column reached the river. It turned out that on the other bank is a very large group of French troops. Thus began the struggle to gain control of the crossings over the river: the bridge and the ford.

Po zdobyciu wioski i opanowaniu wzgórza niemiecka kolumna dotarła do rzeki. Okazało się, że za nią znajduje się bardzo duże zgrupowanie wojsk francuskich. Rozpoczęła się więc walka o zdobycie kontroli nad przeprawami przez rzekę: mostem i brodem.

3. The Game/Gra.

The game started very well for the French, who eliminated in the first movement the German AT gun, which Germans unfortunately set up on top of the hill... It appeared that it was  very important for the whole game, because Germans had been temporarily deprived of the AT support on the left side and  French tanks could move to attack without any threat.

Gra rozpoczęła sie bardzo dobrze dla Francuzów, którzy już w pierwszym ruchu wyeliminowali niemieckie działo ppanc., które Niemcy niefortunnie ustawili na szczycie wzgórza... Okazało sie to bardzo ważne dla całej gry, ponieważ Niemcy zostali czasowo pozbawieni wsparcia przeciwpancernego na lewym skrzydle i francuskie czołgi mogły bezkarnie przejść do ataku. 

The fight with the French tanks tried to make the German tanks, but the accuracy of their guns left a lot to be desired. As a result of that, the first German tank has been destroyed.

Walkę z francuskimi czołgami próbowały podjąć czołgi niemieckie, ale celność ich dział pozostawiała wiele do życzenia. W rezultacie czego pierwszy niemiecki czołg został zniszczony. 

In the meantime, the German infantry took the buildings on both sides of the bridge and began exchanging a fire with the French on the other side of the river. This exchange lasted until the end of the game and beyond eliminating French mortar did not bring any results. The situation has not changed even with arrival of the German infantry team and the Panzerjager I. The infantry was struck by the plane, which appeared as a special event, and the self-propelled gun was immobilized by the French tanks.

W międzyczasie niemiecka piechota zajęła budynki po obu stronach mostu i rozpoczęła wymianę ognia z Francuzami po drugiej stronie rzeki. Taka wymiana potrwała do końca gry i poza wyeliminowaniem francuskiego moździeża nie przyniosła żadnych rezultatów. Sytuacji nie zmieniło tutaj nawet przybyłe: zespół piechoty i Panzerjager I. Piechota została wybita przez samolot, który pojawił się jako zdarzenie losowe, a działo samobieżne zostało unieruchomione przez francuskie czołgi.

The real problem for the Germans was the center of the French defense, namely battery of guns. Against them Germans sent the plane. Although the Luftwaffe eliminated one of the guns, but the rest of the forces remained practical untouched and could continue their fight. 

Prawdziwy problem dla Niemców stanowiło centrum obrony francuskiej, a dokładnie bateria ich dział. Przeciwko nim postanowiono skierować samoloty. Luftwaffe co prawda wyeliminowało jedno z dział, jednak reszta sił pozostała praktycznie nietknięta i mogła kontynuować walkę. 

French response was immediate. First French aircraft knocked out the Pz III and then the French tanks after crossing the river eliminated Pz IV and took the hill. The fight came to an end and the French were victorious. 

Francuska odpowiedź była natychmiastowa. Wpierw francuski samolot wyeliminował Pz III, a następnie francuskie czołgi po przekroczeniu rzeki wyeliminowały Pz IV i zajęły wzgórze. Walka dobiegła końca i Francuzi odnieśli zwycięstwo.

Dinosaurs and cadillacs. Dinozaury i cadillaci.

Michael, who for the last few games bravely accompanied us is going back down to England, and therefore he brought to the club his grandnephew, Denim, who is 11 years old. Especially for him, Colin Jack prepared the game according to the Dinosaurs and Cadillacs rules. Ray and Campbell also joined to the game. Colin shared his models and umpired the game.

Michael, który przez ostatnie kilka gier dzielnie nam towarzyszył, wraca do Anglii, przyprowadził do klubu swojego wnuka ciotecznego (nie jestem dobry w pokrewieństwach ale tak to można nazwać) Denima, który ma 11 lat. Specjalnie dla niego Colin Jack przygotował grę wg zasad Dinosaurs and Cadillacs. W grze wzięli również Ray i Campbell. Colin udostępnił swoje modele i poprowadził całą grę. 

The jungle is full of dangerous creatures. Dżungla jest pełna niebezpiecznych stworzeń.

This game has its base in comic book published years ago with the same title. In this game one rides in the jungle and one kills a variety of animals that should not from a long period of time to walk on the earth. So we have the opportunity to hunt the Mammoth or Diplodocus or other Tyrannosaurus rex. Usually, it is also a goal, but rather a part of the terrain which must be occupied by the end of the game. In our case, these were the buildings in the center of the table. I will not bother you with description of the whole game, so I'll describe it very briefly. At the very beginning of the game everyone was much busier in finding the greater and greater creatures to hunt, until I reached the buildings in the centre of table. Then all came together against me, and very quickly I was eliminated from the game. Denim, who very quickly realized what was going on in this game, used the confusion with me and took the buildings, and already he did not leave them until the end of the game letting Ray and Campbell to eliminate each other  their characters. Once Campbell knocked out Ray from the game,  Denim eliminated Campbell  out of the game and became the well deserved Winner of of the game.

Ta gra ma swoje podłoże w wydawanym kiedyś komiksie o tym samym tytule. Jeździ się w tej grze po dżungli i zabija różne zwierzęta, które już dawno nie powinny spacerować po ziemi. Mamy więc sposobność zapolowania na mamuta, albo diplodoka albo innego tyranozaura. Zazwyczaj jest tez jakiś cel, a raczej element terenu, który trzeba opanować do końca gry. W naszym wypadku były to budynki na środku stołu. Nie będę zanudzał Was opisem całej rozgrywki, dlatego opiszę ją w wielkim skrócie. Na samym początku gry każdy był bardziej zajęty znajdywaniem coraz to większych stworzeń, do czasu kiedy nie dojechałem do budynków, celu naszej gry. Wtedy wszyscy skrzyknęli się przeciwko mnie i bardzo szybko zostałem wyeliminowany z gry. Denim, który bardzo szybko zorientował się o co chodzi w tej grze, wykorzystał zamieszanie i zajął budynki i juz ich nie opuścił aż do końca gry pozwalając aby Ray i Campbell wzajemnie wyeliminowali swoje postaci. Gdy już Campbell wyeliminował z gry Raya, wtedy Denim wyeliminował z gry Campbella i został zasłużonym zwycięzcą. 

You can hunt the Mammouth... Mozesz zapolować na mamuta...

... a diplodocus... ...diplodoka...

... or even King Kong if you like. ... albo nawet na King Konga, jeśli masz na to ochotę.

Salute 2013 - p1

So I'm back from the Salute. First I would like to show you what I bought. There is few interesning things. So the first is the picture of models and figures which aither I bought or I received or I won during the show:

No to jestem juz po Salute. Na początku chciałbym się pochwalić co tam kupiłem. Jest tam kilka interesujących rzeczy. Na pierwszym zdjęciu widzicie modele i figurki, które albo kupiłem, albo dostałem albo też wygrałem podczas show:

Soon I'm going to show you some pictures from the show. Unfornutelly there is not so many as I did it last year - it just was not enought time for this. I played few games, met a lot of friends. Any way, there will be the relation posted very soon on this blog.

Wkrótce pokażę kilka zdjęć, jakie zrobiłem podczas show. Niestety nie ma ich tak dużo, jak to było w zeszłym roku - nie było zbyt dużo czasu na to. Rozegrałem kilka gier, spotkałem wielu przyjaciół.

Gone to Salute :)

Just like above, gone to Salute. I see you there guys!

Drogi (3) i drzewa iglaste. Roads (3) and pine trees.

Waśnie się zorientowałem, że nie pokazałem jeszcze moich nowych elementów na stół. Pierwsze to skrzyżowania do moich dróg (pierwszy zestaw, pracuję jeszcze nad drugim zestawem) i drzewa iglaste (80 szt.), które swego czasu kupiłem na ebayu i którym jedynie dorobiłem bardziej stabilne bazy.

I have just realized that I never showed my new items for my table. The first are to my road junctions (this is the first set, I'm still working on the second set) and pine trees (80 pieces), which  I bought on ebay, and I only based them.
