This time the fictional battle between my Saxons, supported by Austrian cavalry versus Michael's Prussians. The rules used were the Seven Years. Michael came out with a fascinating scenario. Prussian forces had to withdraw the heavy guns, stolen from Saxons and the camp. More details on Michael's blog (link at the bottom of the relation, as usual).
Tym razem fikcyjna bitwa pomiędzy moimi Sasami, wspartymi austriacką kawalerią przeciw Prusakom Michaela. Zasady użyte do gry to Seven Years. Michael wymyślił bardzo ciekawy scenariusz. Prusacy musieli wycofać ciężkie działa, zabrane Sasom i swój obóz. Więcej szczegółów na blogu Michaela (link jak zawsze na dole relacji).

Firstly all Prussian forces had to be deployed on the table, then the Saxons deployed. My plan was to concentrate all cavalry on one flank, destroy the outnumbered Prussians in front of them, force the right flank cavalry to move on the other side, to protect the camp and then with our left flank infantry cut the Prussians from the bridge (the only way of the withdrawal for them). You have to admit, brilliant plan. Here, is how it went during the game.
Wpierw musiały się wystawić wszystkie pruskie siły na stole, potem wystawiali się Sasi. Mój plan wyglądał następująco: całą kawalerię skoncentrowałem po naszej lewej stronie, by wykorzystać swoją przewagę liczbową i zniszczyć Prusaków na tej stronie, zmusić kawalerię pruskiej prawej flanki by musiała przeprawić się na drugą flankę, by chronić obóz, wtedy naszą piechotą lewej flanki odciąć Prusaków od mostu, ich jedynej drogi odwrotu. Musicie przyznać, że plan był doskonały, teraz jak wyglądała jego realizacja.
It started with a large Austro-Saxonian cavalry charge. As it was expected, our forces forced the Prussians to withdraw. However, not without some problems. Michael managed to fire his heavy guns, but soon they were silenced, because of the lack of ammunition (Michael rolled for every heavy gun 1xD3, and he got two ones and I think one '3'...). Our cavalry forced the Prussians to withdraw, which finished with opening the Prussian flank. Saxon Uhlans used that gap and charged the heavy guns, destroying two of them! Tim, who commanded our left flank, did an outstanding job!
Zaczęło się od wielkiej szarży kawalerii sasko-austriackiej. Jak można się było spodziewać, nasze siły zmusiły Prusaków do wycofania się. Jednakże, nie bez problemów. Michaelowi udało się wystrzelić z ciężkich dział, jednak wkrótce zostały one uciszone, ze względu na brak amunicji (Michael rzucał dla każdego działa 1 x K3, i wyrzucił dwie jedynki i chyba jedną trójkę...). Nasza kawaleria zmusiła pruską kawalerię do wycofania się i otworzyła w ten sposób ich flankę. Sascy ułani weszli w tą przerwę i zniszczyli dwa ciężkie działa! Tim, który dowodził naszą lewą flanką, wykonał świetną robotę!
In the meantime, our infantry moved forward. Our most on-the-right infantry brigade has been slowed down by the accurate Prussian artillery fire, but the rest of them managed to reach the enemy on musket and light guns range. That was devastating for Prussians. Soon they started to lose their units. We just needed the final push.
W międzyczasie, nasza piechota maszerowała do przodu. Nasza wysunięta najbardziej na prawo brygada piechoty została spowolniona przez celny ogień pruskiej artylerii, jednak reszcie udało się dojść na zasięg swoich muszkietów i lekkich dział. To było druzgocące dla Prusaków. Wkrótce zaczęli tracić kolejne oddziały. Potrzebowaliśmy tylko ostatniego uderzenia.
Our last push was the medium guns. As soon they were placed in the position, they welcomed Prussians with heavy fire. That caused more casualties and as a result more lost units. Finally, they managed to move their second cavalry brigade to the other side and in that way protect the camp, but the losses they suffered, gave the victory to the Saxons.
Szalę zwycięstwa ostatecznie przeważyły nasze średnie działa. Jak tylko ustawiliśmy je na pozycji, przywitały Prusaków ciężkim ogniem. To spowodowało więcej ofiar z ich strony i w rezultacie utratę kolejnych oddziałów. W końcu udało im się sprowadzić pozostałą kawalerię na drugą flankę i ochronić obóz, jednak straty jakie przy tym ponieśli dały zwycięstwo Sasom.
