Franco-Prussian War in 10mm with Michael's heavily modified version of Black Powder. This time it was a French assault on Prussian prepared positions.
Wojna Francji z Prusami w skali 10mm z Michaelową mocno zmodyfikowaną wersją Black Powder. Tym razem atak Francuzów na pruskie pozycje.

2. The game. Gra.
To win the game French had to relieve the main road off the table. Therefore, they had to capture the town and silence both Prussian forts. It is a hard task and with the rules about the movements, impossible to achieve for Frecnch, during the club night. Anyway, we moved forward. I was in the middle, commanding the French guard infantry, Gordon on my right with incoming infantry reinforcements with some heavy guns and Alasdair on my left, who commanded all cavalry. Our plan was to attack Michael's flank with my and Gordon's forces, whereas Alasdair had to keep Tim and Andrew busy.
By wygrać grę Francuzi musieli oczyścić główną drogę ze stołu. W tym celu musieli zdobyć miasteczko i uciszyć oba pruskie forty. Był to zadanie ciężkie do wykonania, zważywszy na zasady poruszania się wręcz niemożliwe dla Francuzów, by dokonać tego w ciągu wieczoru w klubie. Pomimo tego ruszyliśmy do przodu. W środku francuska piechota gwardii pod moim dowództwem, po lewej Gordon z piechotą z uzupełnień i ciężkimi działami a po lewej Alasdair, dowodzący całą kawalerią. Nasz plan zakładał atak na flankę Michaela siłami moimi i Gordona, podczas gdy Alasdair miał trzymać Tima i Andrew z dala od naszych oddziałów.
Our plan worked well, however, our units moved very slowly. Finally, we managed to reach the designed positions and open fire. Michael was so busy responding to my attack, that he missed Gordon forces flanking him. That was a disaster for his forces. Soon the flank was cleared and we were able to start an assault on the town and the fort on the right.
Wszystko przebiegało zgodnie z planem, choć nasze oddziały poruszały się bardzo powoli. W końcu dotarliśmy do wyznaczonych pozycji i otworzyliśmy ogień. Michael bardzo zajęty odpieraniem mojego ataku, nie zauważył gdy oddziały Gordona znalazły się na jego flance. Okazało się to katastrofalne dla jego oddziałów. Wkrótce flanka została oczyszczona i byliśmy gotowi na atak na miasto i fort po prawej.
We would never achieved our success without the sacrifice of Alasdair. His desperate charges took Andrew's cavalry and Tim's division out of our flank. He suffered enormous casualties but managed to survive. Sadly before our final assault, we had to finish our game. The town and both forts were still in Prussian hands, therefore they won. However, when we checked the casualties it appeared, that the Prussians suffered them more than the French! Very surprising!
Nigdy nie osiągnęlibyśmy naszych sukcesów bez poświęcenia Alasdaira. Jego desperackie szarże zabrały kawalerię Andrewa i piechotę Tima z dala od naszej flanki. Jego straty były olbrzymie, ale przeżył. Niestety, krótko przed naszym ostatecznym atakiem gra się zakończyła. Miasto i oba forty pozostały w rękach Prusaków i to oni zostali ogłoszeni zwycięzcami. Jednakże, kiedy przyszło do porównania strat, to okazało się, że większe ponieśli Prusacy, pomimo faktu, że to Francuzi atakowali. Zadziwiające!
