Paris (1). Paryż (1)

Last month I was on my holiday in Paris. I have seen many great places and museums, however in this place I would like to share few pictures and informations about places, which every wargamer should visit. Of course the The Louvre and all art museums are worth to see, the same as the Eiffel Tower, but this is for all, but same places are important for us in particular.

First of all, I had the feeling, that the  Emperor was present in every place I was in Paris. It was either the Napoleon's statue or in different way connected with him things, like pictures, t-shirts, fridge magnets etc. However it is nothing bad. Bonaparte is the one of the famous person of the world and in my personal believe is the most famous Frenchman of all time (despite the fact that he wasn't French at all...). Anyway, connected with him, will be the first think we need to see. It is painting of his coronation by Jacques-Louis David. To see it, you need to visit The Louvre. It is very easy to find that picture (as it is one of the Highlights of the museum). The majestic of that picture is just impresive.

The second think is the Arc de Triomphe. As the monument created to honor French soldier of the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, it is special place for all of us, who did not played that period on yours tables, any? As for me, I spend a lot of time to find all of the Polish names and battlefield connected with Polish army (ally to the France). It is worth to go up (no lift and only a lot of stairs). Beside the fantastic view on Paris, there is small expositions of 3D photos of the uniforms from the 1WW.

Next place, worth to visit is the Pantheon. First, it is the place of burials few famous peples (for example Marie Skłodowska Curie). However the most impresive things are the paintings from the most important events of the French history.
