Kiss Me, Hardy. Bitwy morskie czasów napoleońskich. W te zasady graliśmy po raz ostatni w 2017 roku. Tak, 5 lat temu! Po tym, jak Angus porzucił stolicę na rzecz swoich ukochanych wysp, zabrał ze sobą wszystkie swoje okręty. To spowodowało braki w naszych kolekcjach (razem w klubie mamay wszystkie okręty potrzebne by rozegrać bitwę pod Trafalgarem). Campbell zdecydował się pokryć tą stratę i pomalował wszystkie brakujące okręty. W ostatni czwartek, zdecydowaliśmy się je użyć. Zagraliśmy prosty bój spotkaniowy z 4 okrętami brytyjskimi przeciw 6 francuskim. Podczas tej gry Royal Navy użyła bardzo zaskakującej taktyki...

1. Forces. Siły.
2. The game. Gra.
Both fleets started in the corners of the table. French had the wind on the bow, British on the quarter. Before the game, the British players decided to copy Nelson's plan during the Battle of Trafalgar. However, Nelson had two cutting squadrons, whereas the British players had one. Crossing the T tactic is well known and many navies tried to do it. How many times someone did do this in the opposite way? At least one, during our last game. British moved forward, however, they cached the worst wind, which slows them down. That pushed French forward and into the best position, they ever dreamed of. All ships, one after another raked the frontal British ship, HMS Bellerophon. She lost all her masts and her hull was devastated, but she was still on the water and refuse to strike. In the meantime, the rest of the British ships moved ahead, just into the immobilized HMS Bellerophon. That caused a few collisions, where 2 British ships lost their bowsprits. Only one British ship managed to fire and that caused minor damages on the last in-line Redoutable. That finished the battle, with an obvious French victory. It was a pleasure to play these rules again.
Obie floty zaczęły w rogach stołu. Francuzi mieli bajdewind a Brytyjczycy baksztag. Przed grą brytyjscy gracze uzgodnili plan, w którym mieli zamiar powtórzyć manewr Nelsona podczas bitwy pod Trafalgarem. Tylko, że Nelson miał dwa przecinające eskadry a nasi gracze tylko jedną. Stawienie kreski nad literą T, to bardzo znana taktyka i wiele marynarek wojennych próbowało tego dokonać. Ile jednak razy ktoś próbował zrobić coś przeciwnego? Przynajmniej raz, w naszej grze. Brytyjczycy ruszyli do przodu, jednak złapali gorszy wiatr, który znacznie ich spowolnił. To pozwoliło Francuzom na wysforowanie się do przodu i zajęcie lepszej pozycji, o której mogli tylko pomarzyć. Wszystkie okręty przeszły prostopadle do Czołowego HMS Bellerophon. Okręt w wyniku ostrzału stracił wszystkie maszty, a jego kadłub został poszatkowany, mimo to się nie poddał. W międzyczasie reszta brytyjskich okrętów wciąż płynęła naprzód, wprost na unieruchomionego HMS Bellerophona. To spowodowało szereg kolizji i kolejne 2 brytyjskie okręty straciły swoje bukszpryty. Tylko jeden brytyjski okręt oddał w tej bitwie salwę, powodując nieznaczne uszkodzenia na ostatnim w szyku Redoutable. To zakończyło grę, z oczywistą wygraną Francuzów. To była przyjemność ponownego pogrania z tymi zasadami.
