Salute 2015 (#1)

Today the first relation from this year Salute. It was my third visit on this show and I can admit that it still is a breath taking event. I wasn't last year but the idea of keeping queue in the hall beside the showroom is a very good idea, especially as London ExCel seems to be much busier than it was the previous years (I counted three another big events in that centre).
Dzisiaj pierwsza część relacji z tegorocznego Salute.

The whole show had a small delay. The prepaid queue enter the Salute few minutes past 10, however it wasn't a big issue. The show is very busy and I think that few thousand gamers visited the show. Every prepaid visitor received the goodie bag with free Salute figure, show guide, and few other things. This time there was some invention to the prize draw, instead of traditional draw which usually happens at the end of the show, this time to the bags the organisers put four golden tickets, I haven't one this time, maybe next time.

The number of traders and games is still very impressive. I have noticed few new tendencies. First is moving back off the second world war to the other conflicts, the second is that the games are going into smaller scales, there is still a lot of games in 28mm, however I have seen a lot of games displayed in 15mm and smaller scales and finally the third, the show is slowly overtaking by bigger companies like Warlord, Battlefront etc. and now instead of trade stands the companies presenting their games too. It is very good as we as the possible customers have the opportunity to check new rules, items etc.

This time I managed to play two games only. The first one was with the Blitzkrieg Miniatures game set in Ardennes, which I won (I played Germans). All models used during this game are their production. This game was presented in 1/48th version of 28mm. They used their own set of rules, it is very simple and very playable and I liked it. The second game was with Crawley Wargames Club. This time they had the very enjoyable game WW1 game. It was card driven game with their own rules. This time, instead of killing, we have to safe our figures. All of us had a team, who had to move a wounded soldier off the trenches to the hospital. The game gives a lot of fun. I did not won and to be honest I was almost the last one, however the game was fabulous.
